Students learn how to write a neat paragraph which is composed of a topic sentence, supporting sentences and a concluding sentence. They proceed to learn about the various ways of developing paragraphs. As they gain confidence, they learn how to write the outline of an essay and finally they learn about writing a five- or six-paragraph essay with ease. In the process, students think logically and clearly when they speak and write English.
In order to become proficient in essay writing, a student must work rigidly according to method. We must always follow a method in whatever we do. It is the same in writing essays.
