Learning English Using The Structural Approach

Ranjit is a trainer, tutor and writer who is based in Malaysia. He specialises in offering English language programmes for students and adults who would like to improve their proficiency in English for personal and professional development.

Ranjit has been training adults from various industries since 2000. He teaches English using the Structural Approach which is based on the study of Traditional Grammar. 

Non-native speakers need to understand how the English language really works and use the English language clearly, correctly and confidently in business and in the social environment. As such, Ranjit has developed English language programmes that are suitable for non-native speakers who intend to be proficient speakers and writers of the English language.

Standard English is the English used by educated speakers and writers of the English language. An individual who claims to be a professional must use Standard English to speak and write in various situations. The individual must be able to impart his or her ideas and feelings to others easily.

Ranjit has also tutored many students (primary, secondary and university). He has helped students preparing for various examinations at the primary, secondary and university levels. The students opted to learn and understand how the English language really works through the Structural Approach.

We teach English using the Structural Approach which is based on the study of Traditional Grammar. As a result, one will gain the necessary knowledge needed to use written and spoken English effectively at the workplace or in any social environment. 

After learning English using the Structural Approach, a learner will understand the different roles that words play in a sentence. For example, the word “water” can be used as a noun and a verb in two separate sentences. Without the knowledge of grammar which leads to synthesis (sentence-building), a learner can make only a superficial progress in learning English.

These exercises can also be done independently by the learner after the completion of the teaching or training. For that reason, learners will understand how to use Substitution Tables to enhance their spoken English. 

OUTCOME

We teach learners how to write clear and correct sentences in the English language. It will be easy if the learner has prior knowledge of grammar. It is also training in the Discipline of Expression whereby learners improve their Transmission Skills, speaking and writing, tremendously. When one learns English using the Structural Approach, one will express oneself clearly, correctly and confidently.
